But buddy... you and your family are actually taking up all sides and the middle. And let's not even get started on the dog with the long leash.
These were the thoughts going through my head yesterday as I made my way down the path on the greenway. As noted earlier in the season I have resorted to coming to the shorter less known greenway as it is generally less crowded. Yesterday - not so much.
Now I must admit I got a late start. I spent the morning studying some stuff and wanted to get that done before heading out. So my ETA was a few hours later than usual and the parking lot sure did indicate as such. Usually people are courteous on all counts - me on my bike and them with whatever mode of transportation. But yesterday there was a guy and his kids that just were ignorant of others and were taking up the entire path. I guess the take away is I have a good sense of balance even when I have to peddle slowly until everyone got out of the way. I understand they have every right to be there just as I do... But...
There was another girl on rollerblades. She was struggling. I give her crfedit for making the effort. Although I dont think her pace and her effort were quite up to the expectations of the others that were with her. Poor girl.
AND LASTLY - I was shocked at how many people let their large dogs (I am assuming there were large based on deposits) use the middle of the path as a toilet and proceeded to NOT pick up after them. I have a whole new view of butterflies - BTW - that seemed to be enamored with the piles of crap in the path.
So I did 8 miles on the bike. I did pretty good time. I am happy to say that I have added - out of the saddle - as part of the drills at that location.
I did 2 miles on the foot - although the desire to run was very minimal.
From there went to a Labor Day cook out... YUMMM!!! The chicken and ribs were really good.
No run this morning. The internal self talk and I were on different pages.
Haircut tonight! So no workout tonight or tomorrow morning. Gotta try to keep the hair straight for at least 24 hours :)
