After washing all the toxins off of me I contemplated heading to the Y to swim. I had it in my head that I just wanted to go swimming. I printed out the calendars and everything to convince myself to go. Instead I headed to the mall to get some replacement batteries for the Nike HRM I borrowed from a friend. Well it turns out it wasn't just the batteries that were not working properly. So I headed over to REI. One of my favourite stores. I really wished I could have justified purchasing some fun warm weather clothes while I was there. BUT that was not my purpose. My purpose was to check out the Timex heart rate monitors the web-site claimed they carried. Well I did not see any when I got there. They did have some Polars but somehow the non-techy that I am walked out of there with a Garmin. NO, not the $300+ version. I think it should do the workout for you at that cost. This does have a wireless upload feature that enables you to store workouts on-line. It's the FR60.
Of course I was nervous to do anything with it. So I spent the remainder of Friday tinkering with it, reading the quick start guide, and the on-line manual. It is now officially up and running.
